TWO STRATEGIC RAILWAY LINKS IN THE EURASIAN REGION

Russia and China proposed two new railway links in the Eurasian region which would enhance connectivity in the Eurasian region and beyond. 

China proposed a railway link from Pakistan's Gwadar Port to China, however, Russia-Iran agreed to construct a railway link connecting Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia along the Caspian Sea. China wants to bypass the Malacca Strait, however, Russia-Iran are providing an alternative of the Suez Canal.
